Luke 19:3 He wanted desperately to see Jesus, but the crowd was in his way–he was a short man and couldn’t see over the crowd.
Many people are too big for their own good. Others have too low an estimation of themselves.
Feelings of inadequacy can hold us back, especially when we decide the wrong way of living is the right way, the easiest way for us to live. “I am not enough” We have all thought it, we have all said it. Feelings of inadequacy are a common excuse for not pursuing God’s will. And, for quitting in recovery. Those attitudes belong in the category of ‘littleness’
Zacchaeus had his viewpoint dramatically changed by Jesus. When drawn into an exclusive company with Him He is able to perform complete life-transformation within us. We can move from one-eyed selfishness to know the limitless resources of our great God. It is within His power to recreate us (2 Corinthians 5:17) He can help us to see things differently. Give us a new perspective on the BIGNESS of God, rather than being obsessed with our own littleness or self-imposed bigness.
Lord, if I continue to see only me, then that is the person I will always be. Redirect me, please.Show me Yourself: again, and again and again.
