What Does The Bible Teach Us about Commitment
- OUR COMMITMENT MUST BE COMPLETE
Matthew 8:22 Jesus said to him, “Follow Me and let the dead bury their own dead.”
- OUR COMMITMENT MUST BE CONSISTENT
Joshua 24:15 If serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
- LIFE COMMITMENTS SHOULD LAST A LIFETIME
Psalms 37:5 Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust Him, and He will help you.
As we commit our wills and lives to God, we can expect to face obstacles, but we can expect to overcome them with God’s help.

Romans 12:6-8Â In His grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. 7 If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. 8 If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

Living Life Recovery is a safe place where people can come, share and investigate the realities of God’s promises for themselves.
We believe that as we investigate God’s promises for our lives and practice the ‘Spiritual Principles of Recovery’ as outlined in ‘God’s Word’ we will find the strength and freedom we need to live productive and peaceful lives.
We welcome anyone who has a sincere desire to change their lives. To rise above the pain and turmoil caused by dependencies and compulsive behaviors their own lives or the lives of a loved one or friend.
Many of us wallow in our pasts and sink easily into the harbour of such memories. Ask forgiveness for allowing these feelings to overcome what you know is your new reality. This episode is also available as a blog post: https://livingliferecovery.com/2022/04/27/thougtfortoday/
