You’ve kept track of my every toss and turn through the sleepless nights, Each tear entered in your ledger, each ache written in your book. I’m awake all night–not a wink of sleep; I can’t even say what’s bothering me. I go over the days one by one, I ponder the years gone by. The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,” your love, God, took hold and held me fast. When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up.
Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
