Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes. Matthew 6:34
Worry! Worry! Worry! That is how I used to live my life. I believed whatever could go wrong would go wrong and there was nothing I could do about it.
That’s not how I live my life anymore. Because I learned to rely on God and to lean on Him. I learned to live ‘One Day at a time.’ And, to trust that whatever tomorrow (an the next day) have in store for me if I approach it in His strength and seek His guidance for it He will work it out. Not always easy! It takes time and it takes practice. At times I still try to do things in my own strength. Which usually don’t work out till He says to me “Okay you tried, now watch me.”
Relying on God does not mean ‘do nothing!’ It means do the best you can with what you have and leave the outcomes in God’s hands.
The ‘Serenity Prayer.’ starts with the words “God grant me the serenity to ACCEPT the things I cannot change.” Stop worrying about things you cannot change and put your efforts into the things you can. That way God can get on with the job of sorting out the things you have no control over.
- What are you worrying about today?
- Is there anything you can do to change it?
If not ‘Let Go’ of it and ‘Let God’ Deal with it.
Prayer Lord help me today not to worry about things over which I can’t change and put my efforts into the things I can.
