“I did not require the people of Israel to look for me in a desolate waste. I am the Lord, and I speak the truth; I make known what is right.” Isaiah 45:19
Do you blame God for your wasted years of misspent opportunities? Even if He has turned the past with its disappointments and distress into a time you can now look back on as a time where He gave you chances to discover Him. He always provided ample direction in the guidelines of the Bible to save us from the pitfalls and ungodly swamps we have chosen.
Few of us listened to his advice or pursued His purpose for our lives. The consequences of our own bad decisions have caused many of us to learn the hard way. We can only blame ourselves, even if extenuating circumstances played a part.
The ‘Good News’ is we don’t need to remain in a desolate waste; think of being redeemable, of being used by God. When we offer the rubbish accumulation of our lives to Him, and apply for a new way of living through Jesus, God is ready, willing and able to guide us on His Way of living.
Come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord.
Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you. 2 Corinthians 6:17
Recovery from wasted years is a slow process that requires us to dedicate our lives afresh to Him and discard our thoughts of uselessness. We need to stop wasting our God-given opportunities and allow Him to work in and through our lives to make what He can from our waste products.
