#69 When You Pray
Ephesians 6:13-18 Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.
‘Prayer is not the conquering of God’s reluctance, but the taking hold of His willingness’ What an encouraging quote! God is forever waiting upon our calling, our requesting, our summoning.
Praise Him for being available.
Reach out to Him regularly.
Allow Him to communicate with you.
Yield everything to His care and control.
Enlist His help in everything.
Retain your commitment to Him and His way of living.
The accessibility we have to God is almost unbelievable. And, we can allow unbelief to divert us from Him. Prayer is our means of sharing relationship with Him. Not just for taking inventory, but a place of recovery, strength and hope. We can pray anywhere, anytime under any circumstance and He will listen. We need to learn to kneel in prayer, lifting our desires, dreams and hopes to Him. Reaching out and up, becoming sensitive to His reaching in and down. There is elevating power in prayer.
Teach may to pray Lord, as you taught the first disciples to pray. May I become a good leaner and committed follower.
