Romans 5:8 God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.
We live in a throw-away society. I was just talking to someone yesterday about the time I spent in working for Salvation Army Family Stores and how the quality of donations must have dropped considerably due to the reduction in the quality of goods sold in stores due to changes in manufacturing.
It is sad, and even sadder when broken people or the elderly are also seen as reduced in quality because society feels they are no longer able to contribute anything, or given the opportunity too. Homeless, addicts, the disabled, disadvantaged and others are often categorized as worthless and not ever likely to succeed.
God never gives up on anyone! Every person on this earth is precious too Him. In Joel 2:25 God says, “I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts” We can leave behind us a large trail of misspent worldly desires, self-gratifying, and sinful indulgences. Through the process of recovery, we need to set our sights on the higher things of life. Build our hopes on God’s promises of new life and GO FOR IT! Say goodbye to failure as we seek to find and to do His will.
