Abdication of Responsibilty

Back in the Garden of Eden, trouble began. It started when a man abdicated his responsibility. Adam gave Eve what she wanted. He was supposed to be the initiator, the protector, the ruler. The poor man succumbed to eve, laid back comfortable and allowed her to dictate the action. That got us all into a mess. Men have nee passing the buck ever since.

Submission to the authority of Christ is never going to universally accepted until He reigns on earth. Within the Kingdom rule of Jesus, there is no other alternative but submission to His authority. He must reign in our hearts and minds.

The battle for our mind goes on unabated. What we think, what we allow to filter into fill our minds and what controls our thoughts are what we are and what we become. Choosing spiritual change and applying what we learn through the recovery process brings a fierce reaction from the enemy camp. The battle for our mind rages on within us. One of our main temptations is to settle for what we know; to accept lower standards f morality and spirituality.

With Jesus as our Higher Power the Word of God is our first and final authority. The best thing any of us can do is to be the best ‘Me’ God created us to be. Our minds need daily renewal through continued inventory so they don’t become cluttered with ungodly nonsense fed to us by the media, or from those who are not on the same path as we are. Psalms 119:9 “How can a young person live a clean life? By carefully reading the map of your Word.”

  • Who is winning the battle for your mind?
