Is your God too small?

Psalms 8:4
I look at my micro-self and wonder, Why do you bother with us? Why take a second look our way?

God is full of surprises! He mixes the normal with the totally unexpected, the natural with the supernatural. He always holds something in reserve. He has not expended fully His abundance and ability. He is inexhaustible in resources. He is incomprehensible in sovereignty and greatness.

Think about it. Think long and think hard. When you think about  Jesus Christ – the One True Higher Power – think BIG! Set your sights on appreciating Him. Psalm eight says “I look up at your macro-skies, dark and enormous, your handmade sky-jewelry, Moon and stars mounted in their settings.”

Lifting our eyes Godwards confronts us with the immense, matchless, abundant provision of God. Rather than minimizing our position in His divine scheme of things, it increases our limited understanding, gives us God-awareness and a soul-searching attitude. God promises “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” Jeremiah 29:13-14 Seeking God’s will for us can be the first step towards a new enlarged vision of Him, and a  refreshing appreciation of His personal interest in each of us.
