1 John 3:4,8 Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God. But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.
Life for most of us falls short of our intentions. It is not easy to fail successfully or accept frustration without bitterness and sorrow. When we entered recovery we found companions or acquaintances well established in the process. Some rejoicing in what they are now enjoyably achieving. Did we allow that to prolong our bid for freedom from our problems? Or did we rejoice with them and do what we needed to do to achieve recovery at any cost?
Recovery is personal. No one can achieve it for us and we cannot achieve it for anyone else. It takes hard work. It requires faith in God and total commitment to the process. Are you willing to go to any lengths to achieve it?
