First pride then a crash. Don’t call attention to yourself, let others do that for you. If you think you know it all, you’re a fool for sure; real survivors learn wisdom from others.

James 1:12 Happy are those who remain faithful under trials, because when they succeed in passing such a test, they will receive as their reward the life which God has promised to those who love him.
Recovery can be a strenuous struggle. Many of us have relapsed and had to start again at the beginning. Why? There is no exclusive reason. The Bible says “Pride is the first step toward destruction. Proud thoughts will lead you to defeat.” Proverbs 16:18. We become so confident and a bit arrogant. Self-inflated with ego-ism. A sure fire ticket to relapse.
This is something we need to watch out for. God has denounced pride, because He knows it is a big factor in our disaster. If our attitude is one of humility we can expect God’s blessing. The humbling process is perpetually (continually) required. We need to present ourselves daily to God. Surrendering our minds and our wills, our body and our soul to Him. To allow Him to break down our stubbornness, rebellion, arrogance, self-will and pretense
God will never force us to do anything. We have our own will, we make our own choices. Relapse occurs because we make the wrong choices.
