Homesickness; there will be some of us who have suffered a tinge of pain and strange inner emotions when thinking about the homes we grew up in. Occasionally giving ourselves the luxury of reminiscing; times of seasonal festivity and precious memories that only kith and kin share. Some of us though have never known such warmth and homeliness, Being isolated at an early age.
An old Scottish preacher had three simple points when basing his sermon on the parable of the prodigal son. (Luke 15) Sick of Home – Homesick – Home
Like the son in the story when we are sick and tired of being in a state of exile we say to God “Lord I am coming home”. In the circle of God’s fellowship, there is always a welcome for sinners. It is a home where the fires forever burn, dispelling any chill and providing warmth.
It is a matter for praise and rejoicing that in times of loss, isolation, and insecurity God shows us the way to find a dwelling place within the fellowship of His love.
Psalms 41:4 I said, “Lord, show me your favour. Heal me. I have sinned against you.”
Pouring our heart out to God opens up the way to forgiveness. Forgiveness opens up the way to change.
Personal experience of God’s pardon in my life helped me to seriously consider the fact I was now on the road to change. Up to that point, it was all still a bit of a pipe dream. I had learned about the process of recovery through my journey without really considering the question what next?
Confession to God for me was the start of His involvement in my life. I realized through communication with Him I had a chance to live a productive and practical life. It was the beginning of my realization that I had a hope.
They wouldn’t listen to their judges; they prostituted themselves to other gods–worshiped them! They lost no time leaving the road walked by their parents, the road of obedience to God’s commands. They refused to have anything to do with it. Judges 2:17

We welcome anyone who has a sincere desire to change their lives. To rise above the pain and turmoil caused by dependencies and compulsive behaviors their own lives or the lives of a loved one or friend.
