Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
Replenishment in our souls is important. We cannot allow our spiritual pantries to get empty. So many people enter the recovery process and commence with a real appetite then starve themselves of spiritual nourishment. Some snack occasionally or indulge in junk food. The enemy is happy to have us attracted to his sweet desserts, ignoring the main meal. The Bible says “He humbled you and let you be hungry. Then he fed you with manna–something you did not know about before. It was something your ancestors had never seen. Why did the Lord do this? Because he wanted you to know that it is not just bread that keeps people alive. People’s lives depend on what the Lord says.” Deuteronomy 8:3
Spiritual appetite is cultivated by acquiring a taste for the nutritious foods of the Word of God and soul building exercises of prayer, fellowship. discipline and faith.
Those who trust in the LORD will become strong again–like eagles that grow new feathers. They will run and not get weak. They will walk and not get tired. Isaiah 40:31
