Don’t let this bad example influence you. Follow only what is good. Remember that those who do good prove that they are God’s children, and those who do evil prove that they do not know God. 3 John 1:11
Not all the advice you are going to get in recovery is goods advice. Like all walks of life, the people in recovery are human and therefore fallible. We don’t know everything! Even if we act like we do.
If we did we would have no need for recovery and no need for a relationship with Jesus.
That’s why in the process of recovery we need to investigate everything for ourselves. Despite what some may think. ‘One Size Fits All’ does not work in recovery. We are all created in God’s image, individually. That still blows me away every time I think about it. God created us all in his image as individuals! That means when it comes to our recoveries no two will ever look the same.
We are called through the process of recovery ‘To be different and make a difference.’ To have a positive influence in our ‘Sphere of Influence’ and to be examples to others in and outside of recovery of what it really means to be ‘Saved by Grace’
- When people look at you, how you act and react to life what do they see?
- Would they want to have a recovery walk like your recovery walk?
