I Admitted I Was Out of Control

The Bible says “None of us is perfectly qualified. We get it wrong nearly every time we open our mouths. If you could find someone whose speech was perfectly true, you’d have a perfect person, in perfect control of life.” James 3:2 Step One says “I admit that my life is a mess and I am out of control.”

When we admit and accept we are out of control we realize we need help outside of ourselves to regain control. The help we need is not human help but Holy Spirit help.

It’s time for Step TWO

The WORD For Recovery

It Does Get Better

Philippians 4:13 Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.

With God nothing is impossible.

I used to hear people say this all the time early in recovery and think to myself “the next person who tells me that I am going to hit.” It’s a bit like people in A.A. who used to say “keep coming back it does get better.”

The most important ingredient in any recovery journey is TIME.

God’s help in recovery comes in God’s timing and nothing we do will make it happen quicker. The Good News is He God doesn’t forget us. He knows what we are going through and He has a solution to overcome all our problems.  Sometimes He wants us to learn a lesson before He acts.
