Hebrews 12:2 Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed–that exhilarating finish in and with God–he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God.
PRAYER FIXES OUR FOCUS
Matthew 6:6 “Here’s what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace.”
LISTENING TO JESUS FIXES OUR FOCUS
Matthew 17:17 Jesus said, “What a generation! No sense of God! No focus to your lives! How many times do I have to go over these things? How.”
CONCENTRATING ON GOD’S WILL FIXES OUR FOCUS
Romans 3:31 By shifting our focus from what we do to what God does, don’t we cancel out all our careful keeping of the rules and ways God commanded? Not at all. What happens, in fact, is that by putting that entire way of life in its proper place, we confirm it.
PUTTING OUR FAITH IN JESUS FIXES OUT FOCUS
Galatians 3:1 Have you taken leave of your senses? Something crazy has happened, for it’s obvious that you no longer have the crucified Jesus in clear focus in your lives. His sacrifice on the Cross was certainly set before you clearly enough.
