Purify Your Soul

Aside

1 Peter 1:22 You have made yourselves pure by obeying the truth. So, you have an honest and true love for your brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply, from the heart.

This verse is talking about the purity of our souls.  The dictionary defines the soul as” the principle of life, feeling, thought and action in humans,  In other words the part of me that makes me Archie.

Purity in my life is in direct relation to how I feel, think and act towards others. Honest and true love for others comes from learning to love ourselves, be honest about our feelings and thoughts and acting in accordance with God’s guidance and direction. The purpose of recovery is to become more like Jesus. Romans 8:29 says “God planned that those he had chosen would become like his Son.”

Don’t Jump to The Wrong Conclusions

Aside

“Follow the evidence to where it leads, even if the conclusion is uncomfortable.”
― Steven James

Strange how quickly people jump to the wrong conclusions. And how many times they are proven wrong.  Our conclusions are generally arrived at by our own experiences, beliefs, and feelings. Instead of following our own knowledge, understandings and feelings we need to learn to examine all the evidence before we arrive at our conclusions on life’s issues.

Look Up, and Be Alert

Aside

Colossians 3:2 If you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.
