Matthew 5:8 God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.
Every sin soils our soul. Purity of heart is a part of spiritual growth preparation for the things God has done, is doing and will do in and through our lives. Step Ten says “Now that I am in the process of change, I will check myself daily to make sure I am not slipping back into my old ways.”
It is important in the process of recovery we learn the value of daily character check-up. We are all human and we are all subject to temptations. It is up to us always to keep watch for things that can trip us up and where possible avoid them.
Step ten is a maintenance step. For anything to continue to work right it needs continual maintenance,
