Mark 4:26-27 Jesus said, “God’s kingdom is like seed thrown on a field by a man who then goes to bed and forgets about it. The seed sprouts and grows–he has no idea how it happens.
Wrong doing has a way of rebounding on us. Job 4:8 says “It’s my observation that those who plow evil and sow trouble reap evil and trouble.” As we do to others, we can be similarly treate. Usually we don’t like it either. Bullies don’t like being bullied. Liars don’t like being lied to. Thieves are usually outraged when someone steal from them. It is an unrefutable fact we reep what we sow.
‘The best things in life are not free.’ Some of us have suffered the consequences of misguided trips into foolish territory. We sowed to the wind of experimentation and reaped a whirlwind. Lit fires of desire and reaped a bushfire. Caved in to prerssure from many influences and experienced rockbottom.
The Divine Sower is waiting to invest in us ……. so we can reap a good harvest . Jesus said to His disciples “You’ve been given insight into God’s kingdom–you know how it works. But to those who can’t see it yet, everything comes in stories, creating readiness, nudging them toward receptive insight. These are people– Whose eyes are open but don’t see a thing, Whose ears are open but don’t understand a word, Who avoid making an about-face and getting forgiven.” Mark 4:11-12 God alone can put us right so we can start sowing wisely.
