2 Corinthians 4:6 It started when God said, “Light up the darkness!” and our lives filled up with light as we saw and understood God in the face of Christ, all bright and beautiful.
Christmas is a time for celebrating recovery! Remembering what we used to be like, what happened and what we are like now. God used our past disasters, failures and regrets to bring us out of the darkness and filled our lives with light. Jesus my Light! and when we all realise and acknowledge that fact in our lives He begins to shine in and through them.
The wonder of Jesus birth in Bethlehem can be our rebirth in recovery. A time of great joy where we accept “Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. I’m proof–Public Sinner Number One– of someone who could never have made it apart from sheer mercy. And now He shows me off–evidence of His endless patience–to those who are right on the edge of trusting Him forever. ”
How are you spending this CHRISTmas? We can spend it missing the meaning of the season. We can spend it without ever knowing how to keep CHRISTmas as God’s gift to us. Many around the world celebrate it with big binges, beaut parties, bountiful food, and spending beyond their means.
CHRISTmas isn’t a date in our calendars; it’s a state of mind. It began in the heart of God with Supreme regard for us. God reaching down now, just as He did when sent His Son to a manger in Bethlehem. Sent Mary and Joseph to an inn with ‘No Vacancies’
