#2184 The Word For Recovery

The WORD For Recovery

Habakkuk 2:2-3 God answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what’s coming.”

At the end of eaxh year I like to take time to take inventory on the year past and plan for the year ahead. Step Ten of the Living Life Recovery Twelve Steps says “Now that I am in the process of change, I will check myself daily to make sure I am not slipping back into my old ways and if I am, I will take steps to rectify it.”

In the process of recovery it is important for us all to continually look at where we are today as opposed to yesterday, last week and last year. By doing so we learn to recognise spiritual growth in our character, attitudes and behaviour and we also recognise areas where we still need to change because ‘recovery is a process of continual spiritual maturity.’

One of the areas I like to look at each year at this time is my blogging and social media interaction with others. I have been reading a lot lately about ‘how often to post’ ‘what to post about’ and finding balance in how I share and what I share with others.

James 5:19 says My dear friends, if you know people who have wandered off from God’s truth, don’t write them off. Go after them. Get them back. In 2019 it is my hope and prayerto reconnect with some of the people in recovery I have lost contact with for one reason or another and to connect with those I haven’t met yet whom God is going to put in my ‘sphere of influence.’

Revelation 21:3-5  says  “Look! Look! God has moved into the neighborhood, making his home with men and women! They’re his people, he’s their God. He’ll wipe every tear from their eyes. Death is gone for good–tears gone, crying gone, pain gone–all the first order of things gone.” The Enthroned continued, “Look! I’m making everything new. Write it all down–each word dependable and accurate.” It is also my hope and prayer that God will use this website to interact with many, many people who it is impossible for me to talk to face to face as we enter this ‘New Year’  together.

Matthew 28:19  says “Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.” That includes people we interacte with through social media. In 2019 I want to live up to my God-given mission to ‘Be Different and Make a Difference.’ What about you?
