We usually get it wrong because we act on our feelings instead of what we know to be true. 1 Peter 2:1 tells us to “Get rid of your feelings of hatred. Don’t just pretend to be good! Be done with dishonesty and jealousy.” Titus 3:3 says “Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient; we were misled by others and became slaves to many evil pleasures and wicked desires. Our lives were full of resentment and envy. We hated others and they hated us.”
Step Eleven says “In order to discover God’s purpose in my life, implement it and to improve my relationship with Him, I will spend time daily in prayer, reading the Bible and meditating on it” Recovery is a process of seeking Gods purpose for our lives through a personal relationship with Him, reading His Word regularly, talkimg to and listening to Him about what we read in order to better how we can be the people He wants us to be and make a difference while we are here on this earth as His representatives.
