4o Days of Recovery ~ Day 29

Recovery is about Progress

If you’re walking down the right path and you’re willing to keep walking, eventually you’ll make progress.
Barack Obama

We have all heard the quote ‘You only fail when you stop trying.” Recovery is about progressing.

1 Corinthians 15:58 With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are in recovery. There are millions of people who are still going through the negative effects of addiction and compulsion. Some will never make it to recovery. Some will and will ‘Quit before the miracle happens.’ But we are on the road and we need to ‘stand our ground’ stand up and be counted. Be different and make a difference where we can. Some of those people who haven’t reached recovery yet or have and have gone back to their old ways are waiting to hear from us. Waiting for us to walk with them through their recovery process. We need to be confident and realize ‘nothing we do’ in the name of recovery is a waste of time or effort.

1 Thessalonians 3:12 May the Master pour on the love so it fills your lives and splashes over on everyone around you, just as it does from us to you.

It is through God’s love for us we are going to progress and help others to progress. It is by seeing what He has done in and through our lives, others are going to want to investigate His promises for their lives. It is through listening to those who have traveled this road before us we are going to gain wisdom in the process that will help not only us but others too.

2 Timothy 1:7 God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible.

Jesus command was clear Matthew 28:19 Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life. Everybody needs recovery. Because we are all sinners and we all need a Saviour. His name is Jesus and He says Mark 8:34  “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how.”
