Redemption

Psalms 49:7-8 There’s no such thing as self-rescue, pulling yourself up by your bootstraps. The cost of rescue is beyond our means.

When from the cross Jesus cried ‘It is finished!” He knew the eternally planned work of redemption had begun. Lots of fitting signs confirmed the completion of His mission: an earthquake, the veil of the temple tearing from top to bottom, the graves of saints opened and they arose and darkness swept across the land. These symbolized the introduction of a new era when people could experience personal life change. The only Redeemer is Jesus Christ.

Many of us can recommend Him to you who have not yet experienced this life change. Redemption is a prevalent theme throughout the whole Bible.

Jesus came from heaven as fully human, obedient to God’s plan, to die on the cross for our sins and to redeem. He did not stay dead. He rose, triumphant over sin, death and the grave. May we enjoy His victory in our lives daily. Our redemption is important to Him.
