NOW THAT I AM IN THE PROCESS OF CHANGE, I WILL CHECK MYSELF DAILY TO MAKE SURE
I AM NOT SLIPPING BACK INTO MY OLD WAYS AND IF I AM, I WILL TAKE STEPS TO RECTIFY IT.
Colossians 2:6-7 My counsel for you is simple and straightforward: Just go ahead with what you’ve been given. You received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him. You’re deeply rooted in him. You’re well constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving.
John C Maxwell says “the only guarantee we have of a better tomorrow is spiritual growth today.”
Spiritual growth is positive and solution-oriented. It stops us from getting bogged down in the problems of the day and keeps us in communication with God. Encourages our dependence on Him. Our Spiritual growth today will be our spiritual foundations of tomorrow.
As we grow spiritually, we need to grow stronger in our character; stronger in our faith, stronger in our commitment to the process and stronger in our love for God’s way of living. In opposition to trying to be strong in our own strength.
Spiritual growth requires patience. Patience in our prayers, that God will give us understanding in all things.
It is easy after thirty-plus years in the recovery process to look back and see all the times God has intervened in my life. It is not always as easy to look forward with understanding. Trusting God is a daily process.
