1 Timothy 1:15 Here’s a word you can take to heart and depend on: Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.
We can spend Christmas without knowing how to keep Christmas. Chrismas began in the heart of God with Supreme regard for the heart of mankind. God reaching down just as He did when He sent Jesus to a manger in Bethlehem. Making a heartfelt offer of generous Gift-giving that proposes loving desire to be permitted to come and dwell within us.
Christmas is a ‘Gift from God’ on a Holy day. A gift we can miss in big binges, great parties, bountiful food. over-spending. Know It is not a date on the calendar; it’s a state of mind. One small child prayed, “forgive us our Christmases as we forgive those who Christmas against us.” God is reaching down now! Are we refusing to make room for the Saviour? #Christmas #Know #Parties
Romans 3:23-24 Since we’ve compiled this long and sorry record as sinners (both us and them) and proved that we are utterly incapable of living the glorious lives God wills for us, God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity, he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ. #Sorry #Incapable #Restored
GOD WILL HOLD US ACCOUNTABLE FOR OUR SIN
Ezekiel 18:30 I will judge each of you, according to
your actions, says the Sovereign Lord. Repent, and
turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you!
WE ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR EVERY WORD THAT WE SPEAK
Matthew 12:37 The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.
WE ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT WE BELIEVE
JOHN 3:18 There is no judgment against anyone who believes in Him. But anyone who does not believe in Him has already been judged for not believing in God
GOD WILL EXAMINE OUR ACTIONS
2 Corinthians 5:10 We must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.
We have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know Him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who
brought us back to Himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him. 2 Corinthians 5:16-18
Romans 1:5 Through Jesus we received both the generous gift of his life and the urgent task of passing it on to others who receive it by entering into obedient trust in Him.
Joshua 1:8-9 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is My command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” #Study #Meditate #Obey
Living Life Recovery is a God-inspired Bible-based Twelve Step Recovery. Founded in 2015 by me whilst a member of the Ferntree Gully Salvation Army.
During participation in Saddleback Church’s 4o Days of Purpose God challenged me, a recovered alcoholic to do something with people with addictions. Through prayer, meditation and communication with the Holy Spirit God delivered to me the concept of Living Life Recovery. At the same time, God delivered to name the name ‘Living Life Recovery’ the ‘Logo’ and the slogan ‘Recovery is about learning to live life but living life is more than just recovery.’
Since 2015 Living Life Recovery has been run in a number of churches throughout Victoria with various degrees of success. In that time I have been also been involved in a number of different Christian Recovery programs, including Celebrate Recovery but God kept prompting me back to Living Life Recovery.
In January 2016 God again prompted me to write the curriculum for Living Life Recovery based on his own experience of recovery since 1987. The result was a ‘Group Discussion Starters’ manual containing three hundred and sixty-five recovery scripture-based recovery thoughts and a ‘Participants workbook’ containing fifty-two ‘Participant Handouts’ based on the ‘Group Discussion Starters’ manual.
Since becoming a Christian in 1989 my goal and God-given purpose has been to ‘lead people to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through the process of recovery.’
To that end in 2020 via the website http://livingliferecovery.com I will sharing sharing ‘daily discussion starters’ and weekly ‘participant handouts’ The website will also contain other recovery curriculum and topics produced by me over my 30+ years in recovery. If you or someone you love is suffering the negative effects of addictions and compulsions I encourage you to visit the website throughout 2020 and to get along to a local church in your area or local 12 Step fellowship and establish a support network to help you on the journey. Handouts SampleThe website will also include various “Recovery Message Videos’
I look forward to sharing with you all and growing in faith as we Live Life Recovery together. #Learn #Recover #Together
Luke 9:23-24 Then Jesus told them what they could expect for themselves: “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat–I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self.
Are you willing to deny yourself, take up your cross daily, and follow him? Anything less is not discipleship; it is just lip service. #Deny #Lead #Run
