#6 God Does Not Tempt

Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil. You’re in charge! You can do anything you want! You’re ablaze in beauty! Matthew 6:13

Memories of the good times drinking and drugging are temptations we need to guard against. In our minds, we can paint lovely pictures of our favorite drink, drug or drinking environment. We only see a warm atmosphere, experiences, and good company.

When we don’t remember the drunk in the corner with no friends. Remember the hangovers, arguments, fights, remorse, and guilt we can talk ourselves into relapse.

It is only through the application of ‘The Twelve Steps’ we can overcome the temptation that attacks our minds and hearts.

Since turning my life over to God I have become aware of being in periods of temptation. My life goal is to ‘Follow where He leads’ rather than following my own desires. Trusting that ‘God does not lead me into temptation’ James 1:14 says “The temptation to give in to evil comes from us and only us. We have no one to blame but the leering, seducing flare-up of our own lust.”

Be assured that God is our best ‘safeguard’ Not only protecting us, but also providing us the power to resist, not just once or twice but repeatedly – again and again and again. #Temptation #Relapse #Blame
