Cry Out to Jesus
Psalms 30:10 Lord, hear me. Show me your favor. Lord, help me.
Shattered strength sweeps away our self-reliance. We all reach a point of rock-bottom and at it we all react differently. I believe that everyone who enters the recovery process at some stage comes face to face with God. Our decision at that time to either follow Him or reject Him defines how our recovery moves forward from there.
Every day I give thanks to God. When I reached rock-bottom He was there. When I came face to face with Him He said to me “You do not need to live like this anymore. Follow me and I will lead you.”
I thank God every day not just that I heard Him but that I responded and because of my response I have experienced His presence in my life since.
– Have you asked God to help you through the process of recovery?
God is a safe place to hide, ready to help when we need him. Psalms 46:1
Pile your troubles on God’s shoulders— he’ll carry your load, he’ll help you out. He’ll never let good people topple into ruin. Psalms 55:22
God gives a hand to those down on their luck, gives a fresh start to those ready to quit. Psalms 145:14
He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. Isaiah 40:29-31
Prayer: Father today help me to communicate with You and follow Your lead.
