Morning Harmony #23

Our God

All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

God keenly strengthens us in our times of weakness. He comforts us through painful experiences. What we are going through now may be a direct result of our past indulgences or it may be a bad habit we have just developed. Don’t blame God! or anyone else but yourself.

Be encouraged that God wants to bring comfort. He can give an abundance of grace to enable you to endure whatever is troubling you. The Apostle Paul, who wrote a large part of the New Testament was not relieved of bodily weaknesses when he put his life in Jesus’ hands but he was given the power of endurance. 2 Corinthians 12:9 He told me, My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness. Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ’s strength moving in on my weakness.

It is good to count on God! Whatever you are going through, overcoming your problems by with God’s help is a sure-fire way to resolve them. We are partners, with Him in this process of support. It is not a case of a few encouraging words. It is deep spiritual involvement.

When we allow the Holy Spirit to convert our mess into a message we share in the hope of God’s grace and the fellowship of fellow travelers.

“What am I doing in the meantime, Lord? Hoping, that’s what I’m doing–hoping You’ll save me from a rebel life.Psalms 39:7-8

– Because He lives I can face tomorrow. Because He lives all fear is gone. Because I know He holds the future. And life is worth the living just because He lives.

Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Hebrews 10:23

Keep in step all the time,
Keep in step all the time;
Don’t fall out and rest for a while,
Follow Jesus all the way, and smile.
Keep in step all the time,
Keep in step all the time;
You will find each day your pathway easy
If you keep in step all the time.

Even if it was written in Scripture long ago, you can be sure it’s written for us. God wants the combination of his steady, constant calling and warm, personal counsel in Scripture to come to characterize us, keeping us alert for whatever he will do next.
Romans 15:4

Holy Spirit! Promised presence fall on me. Holy Spirit! Make me all I long to be. Holy Spirit! Give Your power to me, O Holy Spirit.
