Good News is for Sharing
The willingness to share in meetings without holding back from the truth is one of the main contributions to the success of the meetings and our spiritual growth. Sharing encourages understanding, interest, support and fellowship. It makes us feel better when we have been willing and able to share our experience, strength and hope with others. Sharing also benefits others. In our using days we shared for socialization. Now we share to help ourselves and others understand our addictions, the way to recovery and how to implement the principles of recovery to our daily living.
A life without understanding stunts our spiritual growth. Understanding, goodness, mercy, forgiveness and love are just some of God’s gifts to us. One way to increase these in our lives is to continually share our progress with others and ourselves.
What The Bible Says
The basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is!
He’s a rich mine of Common Sense for those who live well, a personal bodyguard to the candid and sincere. He keeps his eye on all who live honestly, and pays special attention to his loyally committed ones. His various gifts are handed out everywhere; but they all originate in God’s Spirit. His various ministries are carried out everywhere; but they all originate in God’s Spirit. His various expressions of power are in action everywhere; but God himself is behind it all.
Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits. All kinds of things are handed out by the Spirit, and to all kinds of people. With your whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud.
