Have Faith in God’s Purpose
Hebrews 11:8 By an act of faith, Abraham said yes to God’s call to travel to an unknown place that would become his home. When he left he had no idea where he was going.
Early in 1989 whilst on the merry go round in Western Australia. Attending Alcoholics Anonymous. Relapsing, stopping, relapsing, stopping God spoke to me. What He said was “If you really want to get sober you have to leave Western Australia.” So leaving my family, friends and everything familiar to me I jumped on a bus and headed to Adelaide in South Australia. With nowhere to live in Adelaide, knowing no one I ended up living in The Salvation Army’s Homeless Men’s Shelter.
Living in the homeless shelter, relapsing, stopping, relapsing, stopping I heard about The Salvation Army’s Bridge Program. After a couple of months back on the merry go round I ended up on the Bridge Program and on the first day I knew I was in the right place.
During my time on the Bridge Program I asked Jesus Christ to become my “One True Higher Power.” and put my faith in Him and my life changed.
On completion of the Bridge Program I was asked by the then Superintendent of the program to commence an ‘Alcoholics Victorious Meeting.’ in the local community.
From that day till recently I have established and run numerous Bible-based recovery groups wherever God has placed me.
“By faith Archie aid YES! To God’s call and recovered from alcoholism’ My God-given purpose I believe is to ‘lead others to personal relationship with Jesus Christ through the process of recovery.” Living Life Recovery is a part of that purpose and I look forward to God’s evolving plan in my life as I ‘walk the road of recovery in faith.’

Jesus said “The simple truth is that if you had a mere kernel of faith, a poppy seed, say, you would tell this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it would move. There is nothing you wouldn’t be able to tackle.” Matthew 17:20
The fear of human opinion disables; trusting in God protects you from that. Proverbs 29:25
