STEP TWO I believe God exists, that he cares about me and He can help me to regain control of my life.
Your eyes are windows into your body. If you open your eyes wide in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. Jesus said “I am Light that has come into the world so that all who believe in me won’t have to stay any longer in the dark.”
John 8:12 Jesus once again addressed them: “I am the world’s Light. No one who follows me stumbles around in the darkness. I provide plenty of light to live in.”
Those who think they can do it on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle but never get around to exercising it in real life. Those who trust God’s action in them find that God’s Spirit is in them–living and breathing God!
Keep your eyes open, hold tight to your convictions, give it all you’ve got, be resolute. Saving us is all God’s idea, and all His work. All we do is trust him enough to let Him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing. We neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join Him in the work He does, the good work He has got ready for us to do.
Our spiritual vision is our capacity to see clearly what God wants us to do and to see. Jesus brings bring us God’s presence, protection, and guidance. Daily we must consciously choose to center our life on God.
Our salvation and our faith are gifts, we should respond with gratitude, praise, and joy. God’ intends our salvation to result in acts of service. We are not saved merely for our own benefit but to serve Christ by introducing others still suffering to personal relationship with Him.
