Love, Love, Love
1 John 4:10 What is love? It is not that we loved God. It is that he loved us and sent his Son to give his life to pay for our sins
I could use this space to tell you about the relationships I have been involved with females through my life. But I won’t.
I won’t because the two greatest relationships in my life are with God and my wife. Both of whom I would die for.
Pre-recovery my life was all about me. I didn’t care about anyone else and I never understood the meaning of love.
True love is about sacrifice that’s what Christ done for me and that is what God calls us to do for others. Love is not based on the WIFM (what’s in it for me) It is based on what I can do for others.
- Do you believe in love?
- Who do you love?
- How are you expressing it?
“I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20
None of us are permitted to insist on our own way in these matters. It’s God we are answerable to–all the way from life to death and everything in between–not each other. Romans 14:7-8
The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. John 14:26
That’s plain enough, isn’t it? You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all–irrespective of how we got here–in what he is building. Ephesians 2:19
Prayer: Thank You God for loving me. Show me how to love other with a love like Yours.
