FORWARD STEPS (1)
Let’s recognize him as the Lord. Let’s keep trying to really know him. Hosea 6:3
Have we really decided to break with our past and step out into a new life? Most of us know this is the only thing to do and what-is-more, we know we will struggle to survive unless we accept Jesus as our One True Higher Power.
Let us take a few days to consider what working with God to change our lives entails and some of the things that may bother us. Pardon for past sins is one of the first blessings we will enjoy. Sometimes this can only occur if we havemade amends for harm done, debts incurred, property stolen, or people hurt. IS there any of these things we need to face right now so we can begin the process of moving on.
Two things to remember are Jesus Christ alone is our Savior and continued faith must be maintained in personal relationship with Him. It involves worship, prayer and learning His Word. Unforgiven sin will spoil that relationship.
We will make mistakes and do silly things. Some days we will be conscious of how bad we are doing and it may cause us to fail at times, We must not allow this to get the best of us. Must not let Satan use it deter our progress. Instead, daily forgiveness from God is to be sought and accepted. This will powerfully prove we are on the right track.
Keep moving forward through relating to Jesus, longing for everything He has planned for you. 1 John 1:9 God is faithful and fair. If we admit that we have sinned, he will forgive us our sins. He will forgive every wrong thing we have done. He will make us pure.
What The Bible Says
Obey God. Follow His commands and rules. Don’t you know that when you give yourselves to obey something you become it’s slave? You can be slaves of sin. Then you will die. Or you can be slaves who obey God. Then you will live a godly life.
Brothers and sisters, God has shown you his mercy. So I am asking you to offer up your bodies to him while you are still alive. Your bodies are a holy sacrifice that is pleasing to God. When you offer your bodies to God, you are worshiping Him. God continues to give us more grace. That’s why Scripture says, “God opposes those who are proud. But He gives grace to those who are not.”
