Morning Harmony #48

Let’s recognize him as the Lord. Let’s keep trying to really know him. Hosea 6:3

Some habits die hard. Many of us have a habit of brooding over recent mistakes or wrongdoings. Non-believers can expect guilt to plague them. But when we accept Jesus Christ as our ‘One True Higher Power’ we believe that He died to deal with our guilt and the power of sin in our lives. We accept by faith that all is now under the shedding of His precious blood. It is DONE – all sin is GONE. We are now free to move forward in the recovery process in His grace.

It is impudent to keep brooding, or grieving over our pasts. Some character flaws will require correcting, improprieties changed, situations and circumstances adjusted and, restitution made. Sharing our experience, strength and hope with others will be valuable but gloating about our past misdemeanors or over-indulging in raking up the past will be of no benefit to us. God directs us to glory in the Cross of Christ and to talk about Him.

We are to keep the Cross before us with all that it represents. This will require self-humbling and daily cleansing through the Blood. Victory in Jesus can be experienced. Mercy flows freely to sinners like me!

What The Bible Says

What is written will come true. It says, “Death has been swallowed up. It has lost the battle.” God wins the battle for us because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done.

“The world’s greatest achievers have been those who have always stayed focused on their goals and have been consistent in their efforts.” ― Dr Roopleen

Jesus keep me near the Cross. Bring it’s scenes before me; help me to walk daily in it;s shadow.
