Take a Real Rest
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out ……….? Come to me. Getaway with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.” Matthew 11:28
Taking time to rest through the process of recovery is important. To get to know ourselves, to Get to know God and to understand what it was that kept us from moving forward in life.
A lot of my time (the first two years) in recovery) I spent a lot of time writing and taking notes on things I learned through the process of recovery. I had to because much of my short-term memory was shot. If I didn’t write things down and when alone read them I don’t believe I would be where I am today.
Journaling is an important part of recovery. It gives us a fresh look into ourselves, our attitudes, actions and behaviours.
- Do you journal?
- If not, why not?
