Stress Mania

The revelation of God is whole and pulls our lives together. The signposts of God are clear and point out the right road. Psalms 19:7

If we believe all we hear we are living in a age of greater stress than ever before. Never before have there been so many self-help seminars, conferences, discussions, talks, books, articles, pils and drugs to try and deal with our problems. Yet our stress levels appear to be higher.

Stress in our lives can be a strength! That’s right I said a ‘strength’ GNB Psalms 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect; it gives new strength. Living the principles of recovery with God’s help, in His strength will save us a multitude of anxieties, Inner conflict, upsets, distress, spiritual turmoil and plain selfishness , ALL stress contributors.

Fighting against God’s law is sure to put us under stress. Compliance to God’s law on the other hand will be our strength. Lots of saints, called upon to suffer much rested in God, relaxing in His will, finding peace and tranquility beyond human understanding. The had God’s strength to overcome, so can we.

What The Bible Says

We are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age. We are in this fight together. You have seen me suffer in the past; and I am still in the midst of a great and terrible struggle now.

That’s what I’m working so hard at day after day, year after year, doing my best with the energy God so generously gives me. In this all-out match against sin, others have suffered far worse than you, to say nothing of what Jesus went through–all that bloodshed! So don’t feel sorry for yourselves. Or have you forgotten how good parents treat children, and that God regards you as his children? My dear child, don’t shrug off God’s discipline, but don’t be crushed by it either.

Lord, I want to stretch myself fully to be Yours: Strengthen me in the exercise of living right so I can resist the stress of defeat by default.
