Give Us A Go
Exodus 5:15, 17 The Israelite foremen came to Pharaoh and cried out for relief…… Let us go..
It was an impossible situation. The Egyptians demanded more brisk to be made but gave the Jews less straw to work with; how could it be done? In a deputation to the King they asked for a ‘fair go’ qualified by a request to be allowed to get right away from it all, clouded beneath by their need expressed to go and make a sacrifice to God. Refused all of this, the elders of Israel turned with an outburst of anger towards Moses and Aaron.
When our situations go from bad to worse we usually blame someone else. When we seem to be getting somewhere and encounter frustrating hold-ups it is not unusual for us to cry out. When captive like the Israelite’s the deepest emotional longing that can be express us ‘let us go’. We want to be set-free, liberated. When assisted by the recovery process, where are we going? what does being ‘let go’ set in motion?
If we are prepared to GO ALL THE WAY with God we can confidently expect Him to reveal His plan for our future. LET US GO first of all to Him and keep going. LET US GO with determination, to live in accordance to His will and His Word.
