Day: 21 May 2020

Fools Despise Wisdom and Discipline.

You made me and formed me with your own hands. Give me understanding so that I can learn your commands. Psalms 119:73

With your very own hands you formed me; now breathe your wisdom over me so I can understand you. Comfort me so I can live, really live.

God is one and there is no other.
Loving Him with all our passion and intelligence and energy, and loving others as well as we love ourselves is the true purpose of recovery.

Christ living in you as you open the door and invite Him in you’ll be able to take in with all Christians the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights!

Be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Ephesians 5:15

My child, don’t lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them, for they will refresh your soul. They are like jewels on a necklace. They keep you safe on your way, and your feet will not stumble. You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly. You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, for the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap. Proverbs 3:21-26

Filled With Courage and Understanding

I do this in order that they may be filled with courage and may be drawn together in love, and so have the full wealth of assurance which true understanding brings. In this way they will know God’s secret, which is Christ himself. He is the key that opens all the hidden treasures of God’s wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:2-3 GNB

There are poverty-stricken fantasies peddled around which demote Christ. But Christ is the fullness of God, mighty and matchless, set majestically high against all the inferiorities offered by these fantasies. Whatever superiorities men may flaunt and fashion they are unable to redeem humans from sin-ravaged living or remove the inbuilt sin problem.

We may chose to follow notions which portray all sorts of escape routes from our addictions and compulsions but they lead nowhere. God does not force any of us to follow Him. He invites us to ‘turn our wills and our lives’ over to Him. Jesus Christ is the ‘WAY’ ‘In Him alone’ says scripture we find ‘ALL’ that we are looking for.

What The Bible Says

Psalms 25:14 Friendship with God is reserved for those who reverence him. With them alone he shares the secrets of his promises.

Psalms 91:1  We live within the shadow of the Almighty, sheltered by the God who is above all gods.

Daniel 2:22  He reveals things that are deep and secret; he knows what is hidden in darkness, and he himself is surrounded by light.

Matthew 13:35  This fulfilled what God had spoken through the prophet: “I will speak to you in parables. I will explain things hidden since the creation of the world.”

A Safe Place

Our integrity can be put on the line when it comes to recovery. In every area of our lives we need to work at making sure our integrity is maintained or our guilt may lead us to relapse.

I’m finding my way down the road of right living, but how long before you show up? I’m doing the very best I can, and I’m doing it at home, where it counts. Psalms 101:2
