Practice Living The Truth

Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn’t think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn’t claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death—and the worst kind of death at that: a crucifixion. Philippians 2:5-8

How we think of ourselves can be a hangover from our former lifestyle. We can play around in our attempts to change our lives. Convincing ourselves we are not going to amount to anything because God couldn’t possibly accept us as we are. The Word of God can release us from mental and help us to look at ourselves differently. Jesus said John 8:31-32  “If you stick with this, living out what I tell you, you are my disciples for sure.  32  Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you.”

Our lives can be shaped by what we know. If we think negatively of ourselves that is how we will act. Through gaining control of our thoughts. And, placing our faith in God our lives can be reshaped and we can live ‘a new and living way.’

Saturate yo mind with things of God. Through a regular, consistent, careful reading of the Bible we can memorize scripture and store it in our hearts. Psalm 119:32  If you will only help me to want your will, then I will follow your laws even more closely. Thinking only of good things Philippians 4:8  Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about and putting it into prcatice in our daily living.

Truth lasts; lies are here today, gone tomorrow.
Proverbs 12:19

Your word is truth. John 17:17

WE NEED TO LOVE THE TRUTH NOT JUST BELIEVE IT God is light, pure light; there’s not a trace of darkness in him. If we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth—we’re not living what we claim. But if we walk in the light, God himself being the light, we also experience a shared life with one another, as the sacrificed blood of Jesus, God’s Son, purges all our sin. 1 John 1:5-7
