2 John 1:8 Don’t lose out on what we’ve worked so diligently in together; I want you to get every reward you have coming to you.
Unpaid work is unpopular. “A fair days work for a fair days wages” We all know and heard the quotes that tell us our time and effort are worthwhile and should be valued. Never a week goes by when we hear a story of someone feeling they have been undervalued, are not paid enough, should be doing something of more staus than they currently do.
Living for ourselves and justifying our self-contentedness will lose the rewards God has in store for us. Jesus says in Matthew 7:21 “Not all who sound religious are really godly people. They may refer to me as ‘Lord,’ but still won’t get to heaven.” It can be the same in recovery “Not all who talk the talk are going to achieve sobriety and Serenity.”
Having worked hard on your recovery do not give up now! Don’t miss out on God’s will byy focusing on your own ambitions. Philippians 2:12 What I’m getting at, friends, is that you should simply keep on doing what you’ve done from the beginning. ………. Better yet, redouble your efforts. Be energetic in your life of salvation, reverent and sensitive before God.
