May you always be joyful in your union with the Lord. Philippians 4:4

No matter what is happening in and around you right now “be joyful.”

We can be joyful in every circumstance. Seems strange I know that as we go through the process of changing everything about us and our lives we can have joy.

Our inner attitudes do not need to mirror our outward circumstances. We can take joy in knowing that no matter what happens from here on in the process of our recovery God has got this! He is with us, and He is not going to leave us on our own with nowhere to turn.

It’s easy to get discouraged in recovery or too take it all too seriously.  If you are not joyful because of what has done in your life till now maybe you need to change your perspective,

  • Are you joyful about what God has done on your life till now

Philippians 4:4-9
Joy comes from focusing on the things that provide lasting value to our lives and our recovery. As we grow in the recovery process and commit to seeking and following God’s will our perspective of His will becomes clearer as does our ability to choose those His way and follow  His purpose for us.

GOD’S PLANS FOR US ARE ALWAYS FOR OUR GOOD
I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. Jeremiah 29:11

GOD WANTS US TO FOLLOW THE PATH HE HAS PREPARED FOR US
There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears. Philippians 1:6

GOD’S WANTS US TO INCLUDE HIM IN OUR PLANS
Ask the Lord to bless your plans, and you will be successful in carrying them out. Proverbs 16:3

If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. James 1:5

PRAYER  Lord help me to be joyful that You live in me and lead me today.
