Waiting For You

God’s not finished. He’s waiting around to be gracious to you. He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you. God takes the time to do everything right—everything. Those who wait around for him are the lucky ones. Isaiah 30:18

The God of all grace and mercy is waiting for you to call upon Him. He is patient. He is faithful and His invitation to you is never withdrawn. Jeremiah 33:3  ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’

Our requests to God are too often of temporary value. We make an emergency call. He responds, respite occurs and we resume our godless ways. Not only do we insult God but we also do ourselves a great injustice. Instead of allowing the full flow of eternal correction and divine intervention we decline continued Godly rescue. Our desire for God’s involvement short-lived. We don’t want His real work in our lives because we think that may be a bit too much for us.

Stange how e make God a convenience, isn’t it? It’s embedded in our sinful natures. We would rather trust another person than trust God. It is not one of our better characteristics. It appears to be a trit not easily dismissed. Putting our faith in others or ourselves rather than in the ‘God of all power’  Making a convenience of God is not ‘playing games’ it’s a serious matter. It is soul-destroying, it is cheating, deceptive, mean, selfish and might I say ‘immoral.’ It is only through complete surrender to God and waiting patiently on Him we can repel the attitude of ‘God as a convenience.’
