Commit to change, repentance, and restitution.

We must all obey the great law of change. It is the most important law of nature. Edmund Burke

One of the most fundamental marks of true repentance is to see our sins as God sees them. Charles Simeon

By treating others with respect, we can slowly rebuild the trust we have destroyed. As we follow God’s program for healthy living, we can learn to encourage, instead of offending, others with our words and deeds. The Recovery Bible

It’s your life that must change, not your skin! The real action comes next: The star in this drama, who will change your life. Now it’s time to change your ways! Turn to face God so He can wipe away your sins, pour out showers of blessing to refresh you. God overlooks it as long as you don’t know any better—but that time is past. The unknown is now known, and he’s calling for a radical life-change. Did you think that because he’s such a nice God, he’d let you off the hook? Better think this one through from the beginning. God is kind, but he’s not soft. In kindness, He takes us firmly by the hand and leads us into a radical life-change.

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that he will forgive your sins. From the time Jesus began to preach, He said, “Repent! For the kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Unless you repent, you will perish. Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ to remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Think this over—no double-talk! Think carefully—your integrity is on the line. No one of us is perfectly qualified. We get it wrong nearly every time we open our mouths. If you do what God wants, He will make certain each step you take is sure.  He will hold your hand, and if you stumble, you still won’t fall.
