Living Life Recovery

We are all in this together

We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

We are all in this together. The purpose *of recovery fellowships is to support. We are not here to fix each other. Fixing our lives is God’s domain, not ours. In recovery, we are here to support one another and to encourage one another. Over my years in recovery have met many different individuals from many different backgrounds. All with one thing in common. We all need recovery. We all have problems and issues in our lives for which we need God’s help and the help of other people. Don’t be a lone ranger.

Was there a time during your which you needed help but choose not to seek it?
Are you now seeking and accepting the help you need to overcome your problems?
ASK FOR AND ACCEPT HELP WHEN IT IS OFFERED

Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with. Elijah, for instance, human just like us, prayed hard that it wouldn’t rain, and it didn’t—not a drop for three and a half years. Then he prayed that it would rain, and it did. The showers came and everything started growing again. James 5:16-18

Step five encourages us to find someone we trust to share our past mistakes and sins with,
Have you found that person?
It says in the verses above Elijah prayed and his prayers were answered when God was ready to answer.
If you have not found that person, have you prayed God will show you who they are and how you can connect with them?
When you pray to God – you must give Him time to answer.
ASK GOD FOR HELP – Please, Lord, rescue me! Quick! Come and help me! Psalms 40:13
STOP SINNING – You will pray to the LORD, but he will not answer you. No, he will hide his face from you, because what you do is evil.” Micah 3:4
PRAY WITH THE RIGHT MOTIVES – How bold and free we then become in his presence, freely asking according to his will, sure that he’s listening. And if we’re confident that he’s listening, we know that what we’ve asked for is as good as ours. 1 John 5:14-15

PRAYER: God help me not be too proud to ask for help when I need it and allow others to help me.
