Forgiveness is a choice

Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others. Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil. You’re in charge! You can do anything you want! You’re ablaze in beauty! In prayer, there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part.” Matthew 6:12-15

Forgiveness is an important part of the process. Sometimes we have difficulty letting go of anger and resentment towards those who have hurt us. Asking God for forgiveness is hypocritical unless we are willing to forgive others/ Forgiveness from Him can be forfeited and denied when we deny forgiveness to others.

There is a connection between what we do and what God does. It can be easy to forget what He has done for us as our lives improve. Lamentations 3:21-24 says ‘there’s one other thing I remember, and remembering, I keep a grip on hope: God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up………………  I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left.‘ God’s grace comes in daily doses and we need to ask ourselves “Just for today am I willing to forgive others?” or am I just trying to escape my current situation or circumstances?
