Day: 1 January 2022

2022 | Day One | Discussion Starter

God’s plan for the world stands up, all his designs are made to last. Psalms 33:11

God’s plans are God’s plans. They don’t change because we change. I don’t know about you, but my life pre-recovery was full of inconsistencies. I couldn’t trust myself, let alone trust anyone else. Trusting others in recovery came slowly for me.

I knew I could trust God. I have always known it, but I choose not to. He was for weak people, and I never saw myself as weak. I knew if I was going to trust Him it needed to be “ALL IN’ I have never been a half-full type person it has always been all or nothing.

Reading the Bible, I realized the promises of God were good and perfect. Two words I had never known in my life. James 1:17 says “Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven….. There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle.” I knew if I was going to follow Him I had to change my attitudes, beliefs and, commitments.

I did and here I am 30+ still following Him, still committed to finding, and doing His will on a daily basis in every area of my life. God is good.

Thank you, Jesus, for trusting me and using me in your mission. Teach me how to use the gifts You give me to maximize the reach of Your Kingdom here on Earth.

2022 | Spiritual Foundations | Week One

“These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock”.  Matthew 7:24

God’s Word is foundational for the recovery process. It is our foundation stone, designed for building our lives on.

We are all unique. God created us all in His image, but He also created us as individuals.

Today I want to encourage everyone to find out what works for you. There is only one way to achieve recovery as far as I am aware. That is God’s way!

Do not be pressured by others to do what they did. You are not them.

Take time to get to know God and His plan for you and then establish your foundations built on how He guides you. God will not guide you in any direction that goes against his Word,

  • What is God saying to you about His plan for your life?

Prayer: God help me listen for, establish and apply Your will for my life

Remember, there is only one foundation, the one already laid: Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11

John 3:16 “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.”

Romans 15:13 May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope!

The Master, God says: “Watch closely. I’m laying a foundation in Zion, a solid granite foundation, squared and true. And this is the meaning of the stone: A TRUSTING LIFE WON’T TOPPLE. Isaiah 28:16

Proverbs 3:5 Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own.

Proverbs 10:9 Honesty lives confident and carefree, but Shifty is sure to be exposed.

Hebrews 12:28 Do you see what we’ve got? An unshakable kingdom! And do you see how thankful we must be? Not only thankful but brimming with worship, deeply reverent before God. For God is not an indifferent bystander.

I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. Jeremiah 29:11

Romans 8:27-28 He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

Proverbs 16:9 We plan the way we want to live, but only God makes us able to live it.

The bottom’s dropped out of the country; good people don’t have a chance”? But God hasn’t moved to the mountains; his holy address hasn’t changed. He’s in charge, as always, his eyes taking everything in, his eyelids Unblinking, examining Adam’s unruly brood inside and out, not missing a thing.  Psalms 11:3-4

2022 | Day 1 |Morning Harmony

We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but God’s purpose prevails. Form your purpose by asking for counsel, then carry it out using all the help you can get. God’s wisdom is something mysterious that goes deep into the interior of his purposes. You don’t find it lying around on the surface. It’s not the latest message, but more like the oldest—what God determined as the way to bring out his best in us, long before we ever arrived on the scene. It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living,

Too often we think the answer is within us. We think we know all the answers. Here is my question for today “If you have all the answers how did you end up in recovery?” We won’t discover the best way of living by living by our own knowledge and desires. God wants to bring out the best in us. To do that He expects us to give our best to Him. at the beginning of 2022 if we want to move forward spiritually, mentally, and physically we need to decide today to commit our lives to God’s care. Recovery is about the discovery of our true identity. We require help to discover who we really are and to face up to some of the truths about ourselves. God knows what we need to go through and he is committed to equipping us to go through it, if we are.

Lord just for today help me to commit to Your plan fro my life and listen for Your voice as I go through the day. Show me what I need to know and need to do to discover Your purpose and carry it out.
