2022 | Day Twenty-Nine | Thought for Today

“I only trust myself!” “I can do it!”

Two of the most self-deceptive statements we have all said at one time or another in our lives.

We have been on this road together for a little while now and I want to ask you the question: Who do you trust?

Some of the most valuable things I have learned, implemented and shared in my recovery and life are things I have learned from other people. None of us are here by mistake. We are here because it is where we need to be and God has brought us here.

*Have you established an accountability partner yet?

* Will you do it today?

Proverbs 28:26 says “Anyone who trusts in himself is foolish. But a person who lives wisely is kept safe.”

In all of our lives, God places people in our paths. Some to teach us and to help us. Others teach us who we don’t want to be and how we don’t want to live. But, the bottom line is the Bible teaches us not to trust ourselves. To build relationships with people we can trust, people who care about us. People who don’t necessarily tell us what we want to hear but tell us what we need to hear in order to grow into and lives the lives God related us to live,
