2022 | Day Fifty-One | Verse for Today

Psalms 119:75 I can see now, God, that your decisions are right; your testing has taught me what’s true and right.

Growing spiritually in recovery I have not always been able to see or understand the decisions of God, Haven’t always learned right away the lessons God has intended me to learn from times if testing. But, doing inventory on them at a later date has always led to me understanding the way God deals with me is true and right.

1 John 5:20  says ‘We know that the Son of God came so we could recognize and understand the truth of God—what a gift!—and we are living in the Truth itself, in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. This Jesus is both True God and Real Life.”

  • By coming to earth Jesus helped us to undeestand bothe who He is and how God wants us to live. He has give us God’s insights into holines, kindness, love, purity, meekness, patience, grace and much more. He has given understanding of who He is and what lengths He is willing to go to for our recovery.

Knowing these things has helped me on the road to recovery living my life more in line with His word than I did before I ‘made a decision to turn my will and my life over to Him’

John 1:8-9  says “John was not himself the Light; he was there to show the way to the Light.  9  The Life-Light was the real thing: Every person entering Life he brings into Light.

  • Jesus Christ is the One True Higher Power. He is the source of all knowledge. He has overcome death He has been with us in all of lifes problems, trials and burdens (wheteher we can see that or not – whether we acknowledge that or not) He is the Light of the World – who came down into darkness so we could find and lie lives of recovery.

Many times in my spiritual walk I have been tested – many times I have failed but with God’s help, I have always come through. And, in coming through become stronger in my faith and in my life.

John 19:35  says “The eyewitness to these things has presented an accurate report. He saw it himself and is telling the truth so that you, also, will believe.”

  • In A.A. we are encouraged to share our story – what you used to be like – what happened? and what are you like now?

    – before I took an honest look at myself I cared about no one or anything. My life was a mess. I spent my life doing geographicals to escape from myself.

    – Jesus intervened in my life and immediately I knew what He expected of me. So I changed not because I wanted to but because I had to,

    – My life now is better than I could have ever expected. Because I know who is in chare. His nake is Jesus Christ and He is my “ONE TRUE HIGHER POWER.

He wants to be your One True Higher Power to but you have to invite Him. He won’t force His way in anywhere, He has to be invited.

Step Two says WE CAME TO BELIEVE A POWER GREATER THAN OURSELVES COULD RESTORE US TO SANITY

Today’s Questions

  1. Do you believe?
  2. Are you willing to let Him take the reigns?
