Don’t even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life. Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time—remember, you’ve been raised from the dead!—into God’s way of doing things.
Going back into our old associations and places from our old way of living can be costly. Our new way of living may sometimes not seem like our best option.
God cannot help us on ‘the road to recovery’ if we keep going back. Following God is a change of direction, turning to Him instead of old ways of thinking and acting, necessary to succeed in finding and following His will for our lives. Recovery requires 100% commitment., unreserved, unconditional commitment to turning our will and life over to Him.
Countless people have been able to bring about an arrest of their addictions and compulsions, their spiritual decline through faith in Jesus Christ as their One True Higher Power. Acts 16:31 says, “Put your entire trust in the Master Jesus. Then you’ll live as you were meant to live.” We need to cultivate the daily habit of reading and meditating on God’s Word. As additional spiritual assistance, I suggest acquiring some daily recovery books to explain God’s meaning help you better understand faith and the promises God has for you, May I also suggest literature of the stories of others traveling the same road as we are, A mind focused on God’s will benefits tremendously and encourages us as we move forward spiritually.
